“ "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Summary: Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) assembles a highly select group of specialists from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange and the unknown around the globe, to boldly go where no one...wait, that's "Star Trek". S.H.I.E.L.D. does, however, seek out the extraordinary and find out whether these things need protection -- or whether society needs to be protected from them. Our take: Can Joss Whedondo anything wrong? Yes, of course. Fortunately this pilot is not going into the The Avengers director's failure pile. It's not perfect, mind you, and there are a few elements that may even make the most devoted Whedon fan cringe at its twee-ness. But Gregg heroically holds the center, and as long as the supers, the villains, the conspiracies and mysteries (including how Coulson came back to life) keep things interesting, we'll remain enlisted.
